EXTRA !! EXTRA !! READ ALL ABOUT IT !! EXTRA !! EXTRA !!

The Wing Slayer series continues as Jennifer Lyons releases her first indie publishing with the novella, Forbidden Magic. The 15th of April will not only mark the release, but a demand from fans for Jennifer to proceed on with the Wing Slayer Hunters we all love and want to read about. Since her first Wing Slayer release Jennifer’s talents have spread among book readers as an author to keep tabs on. The awesome stories she unfolds have captured the hearts of fans with a need for more of her fantastic work.
To help get the celebration started, Jennifer is having a great giveaway to three of our lucky followers.
1.   A signed copy of NIGHT MAGIC   (US residents only)
2.  A signed copy of SINFUL MAGIC   (US residents only)
3.  An ebook of FORBIDDEN MAGIC

Wing Slayer Hunter, Ram Virtos, must find his soul mirror witch and convince her to mate with him before his Thunderbird tattoo kills him. But while that witch might be able to save Ram’s life, it is the mysterious Ginny Stone who inflames his passion.
Ginny has been deeply fascinated by Ram for months, but dared not act on it or she’d be torn from her mortal life on earth and thrust into her dreaded destiny as a half-breed angel. But when her beloved brother’s soul is at stake, she must do the one thing she both fears and desires…
Take Ram to her bed.

Shonna's Review:  While you could read this as a stand alone, I don’t recommend it. Why?? Because if you haven’t read the Wing Slayer series you are truly missing out on some amazing tales that I know you will want to start from the beginning. Each book draws you into a world that is so full of emotion and adventure that as soon as you finish the first book you will immediately want to start the next until you reach the last page of FORBIDDEN MAGIC.
Wanting no part of him, Ram’s soul mirror has fled into hiding while he suffers with the awaking of his thunderbird. While his mind knows that finding the other half to his soul through his mate is his only chance to live, his heart can only ache to be with the only one he truly loves and can’t have, Ginny.
Willing to do anything to save her brother from the hands of her father, Ginny agrees to do whatever it takes to keep Eli safe, even if it compromises hers. A powerful force demanding his daughter ascend and then drain all her emotions to him, Ginny won’t risk what will happen to Eli if she doesn’t comply. Wishing she could fill the other half of Ram’s soul the way he fills her heart, yet knowing it was never meant to be, Ginny knows she has completed her earthly training for her cruel father with the final emotion, heartbreak.

My Rating - 5

Wendy's Review:  FORBIDDEN MAGIC- Ram & Ginny's Story
Forbidden is the love you feel for someone who is not your soul mirror but your soul knows is the person for you. From the beginning of the Wing Slayer Hunter series I have felt that if given the smallest nudge that Ram’s impressive control and strength would waver and that is what happens when Ginny sets out to seduce him. It didn’t take long for Ram to figure out that Ginny was not a mortal woman but it took less of time for him to realize he wanted her more than anything ever in his life. For Ram at his breaking point, age difference, be damned, Eli, her brother & a Wing Slayer Hunter be damned, him having a soul mirror out there be damned, all Ram wants is to love Ginny and have her love him back. He feels the bloodlust coming full force with the awakening of his thunderbird. Knowing he has a soul mirror witch running from him just pisses him off; with the only light at the end of tunnel is his love for Ginny. He will do anything and everything to protect what he considers his, and Ginny is his, no matter what her father says or does.

Hot, Sexy, Emotional, Heartbreaking, & Fantastic are just a few words I would use to describe this novella & this series.

My Rating: 5

A Quote from FORBIDDEN MAGIC

“Ram?” she finally answered.
The intense light dimmed enough that he could see the shadow of her. “Yes, angel, it’s me.”
“You’re not mine. You belong to Shayla.”
He had a few minutes to touch her. Ram found her face with his palm, fitted his hand to the curve of her jaw and said, “No. I belong to you. Stay with me, Ginny. We’ll fight together. I swear it.” He held her tighter, cradling her in his lap.
But he continued to feel that pull on her, the force tugging her, trying to drag her away from him.
He was still losing her. damn it! Desperation revealed the raw truth in his heart. “Please angel. I love you. Don’t leave me.” Then he lowered his mouth to taste her lips, to fill her with his love.
The brutal light vanished.
Ginny was safe in his arms.
But for how long?

In the days when powerful witches used their magic to shield humanity from demons, their allies and guardians were a group of men gifted with preternatural abilities of their own–the witch guardians. But when a band of witches traded their humanity for demonic power, the ancient bond was broken, and the guardians became the hunters.
Darcy MacAlister knows nothing of demons or magic. But this beautiful young woman is about to discover the truth about her past…and her future. For she is a witch–not just any witch, but the key to breaking the curse that has plagued witches and the men who hunt them. For if a hunter kills an innocent witch by mistake, the price is no less than a piece of his soul.
Axel Locke, gorgeous leader of the Wing Slayer Hunters, has sworn never to shed the blood of the earth witches who have resisted the temptation of demonic power. But when his sister is cursed by a demon witch, he discovers that Darcy MacAlister may hold the cure–if she can master her newfound powers in time. When the chase begins and Axel and Darcy come face-to-face, this hunter must weigh his soul against his honor–and against his heart.

When an ancient pact is broken, powerful witches who once used their magic to help humanity become the twisted playthings of demons, and the mortal men who once protected the sorceresses become witch hunters, cursed with the longing to spill the witches’ blood: an irresistible craving that will cost witches their lives and witch hunters their souls.
The Wing Slayer Hunters fight this curse, guarding innocent witches until the urge to harm them grows too strong–then they must kill their own. Wing Slayer Sutton West has always honored that vow. His own father killed himself rather than go rogue. But now Sutton is tempted as never before by Carla Fisk, a brilliant psychologist and dynamic witch whose twin sister, Keri, was murdered by rogues.
Bound by blood and passion, Carla and Sutton dare not succumb to their deadly attraction. Yet when a mysterious rogue named Styx joins forces with the demon Asmodeus, witch and hunter have no choice but to work together. For Keri’s immortal soul is at stake–and with it, balanced on a knife-edge, is the fate of humanity itself.

Ailish Donovan is a witch ready to do battle. Raised unaware of her powers, she is just sixteen when her mother tricks her into binding with the demon Asmodeus. Pure-hearted Ailish escapes with the connection incomplete but pays a heavy price: For the next eight years, she is shunned by her earth sisters and tormented by Asmodeus’s lust. After hardening her body and mind as a champion kickboxer, Ailish returns home to break the bond—or die.
The Wing Slayer Hunter Phoenix Torq is sworn to protect earth witches, but he is shaken by Ailish’s fierce independence—and his own forbidden cravings. Dark, impulsive, and haunted by his troubled past, Phoenix likewise arouses Ailish in ways she finds disturbing—and irresistible. Torn between mistrust and desire, each must go to hell and back to seek the magic that could set them both free.

Roxanne “Roxy” Banfield refuses to be like her mother, a fertility witch who uses sex as nothing more than a magical weapon. Roxy rejects that life and is determined to become mortal to pursue her dream of real love and a family. All she has to do is avoid meeting the one man whose sensuality can release her powers. But steering clear of this magnetic stranger is easier said than done.
Wing Slayer Hunter Kieran “Key” DeMicca channels the dark violence that lives inside him into a popular comic book series about an ancient dragon named Dyfyr, but only Key knows that Dyfyr is real. Lately he finds himself drawing images of a young woman in peril, and assumes that she’s just a product of his imagination—until he meets Roxy. Struck by her beauty and her resemblance to his sketches, he feels compelled to protect her. As steamy magic, lethal danger, and timeless love collide, Roxy must become what she swore she would never be—and inadvertently awake a part of Key that will threaten to destroy them both.

  8. I must confess that I don't know much about the Wing Slayer Hunters--do you have a set number of stories in mind for the series? How are they connected? Are they stand-alones, or should they be read in order? Thanks so much for the intro!

  15. Karina, the characters inspire me! Once they find their way into my head, I find I'm driven to tell their story.

As for external inspiration, it's varies and is hard for me to define. What moves me, inspires me. A book, a movie, a song, an experience, any number of things. I hope that's not to vague of an answer.

  17. ErickaS, great question! I have plans for a full novel for Ram and Ginny. Their story is huge, and I am desperate to tell it. I need to tell Linc and Eli's stories first, and then, Ram and Ginny.

  18. flchen1, hi there and interesting questions! I have an idea of how many of the stories I want to tell...ending with Wing Slayer's story. But I'm not sure how this will go.

What connects the stories is that the hunters and witches are fighting against a dark, soul destroying curse. Soul mirrors--the hunter finding the witch with the other half of his soul, will break the curse for them. But each love story is unique.

They can be read out of order, but it's probably a richer experience to read them in order.

  36. missyj6342, hi there! I've always loved paranormal, and had a soft spot for witches. So this was a natural choice for me. I have written a mystery series and some light romantic mysteries under the name of Jennifer Lyon. I love all romance!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Melissa, thank you so much for getting your local library to purchase the books! That's amazing!

The hunters and I are always in a power struggle when I write their stories. Men, in general, are not forthcoming with their feelings and fears, and my goal is to strip away all their layers of protection to truly understand them. It takes a lot of writing, rewriting and whining on my part to succeed :-) Now writing fight scenes with them? That's easy, LOL!
